David sangat suka warna jingga dan kuning, tetapi ia juga menyukai warna hijau muda.. Dia mempunyai mata yang indah yang biasa disebut sebagai warna mata Hazel dan mempunyai tinggi badan 173 cm. Ayahnya bernama Jeff Archuleta yang berprofesi sebagai pemusik jazz dan ibunya bernama Luph Marrie Archuleta yang profesinya sebagai penyanyi dan penari yang berasal dari Honduras. Ia mempunyai 4 saudara yaitu, Claudya (18), Daniel (14), Jazzy (11), Amber (9).
Pada usia 6 tahun David pindah ke Salt Lake Valley, Sandy, Utah. Sekarang ia tinggal di Muray, Utah. David dibesarkan dari keluarga pemusik. Pada usia 6 tahun David mulai menyanyi setelah menonton Video Las mirasable. Sejak itu orang tuanya mengetahui kalau David memiliki bakat alami. Usia 10 tahun David memberanikan diri untuk nyanyi dihadapan umum, dan mendapat sambutan meriah dari para penonton dan menjuarai anak-anak.
David pernah mengalami kerusakan pita suara akibat penyakit bronchitis. Dia ditawari untuk operasi, tetapi nggak mau karna terlalu beresiko. David mempunyai pelatih vocal yang juga ternama di amerika yaitu, Dean Keaelin. Dean kaelin juga sangat membantu dalam penyembuhan pita suara David. Selama sakit aktifitas david adalah belajar piano.
Di akhir SMA nya David memilih untuk ikut Homescholling. Meskipun begitu David adalah seorang yang cerdas, karena ia selalu mendapat nilai A dan point GPA nya 4.0.
Dengan ketenarannya sebagai penyanyi dan pemain piano yang handal, david sebenarnya juga ingin jadi dokter THT. Sekarang David sudah mempuyai lagu-lagu sendiri antara lain :
